How a sea rescue can take place is beyond imagination. The real-time documentary shows how agonisingly long it takes to rescue 104 people from a sinking rubber boat. Person by person, step by step, the action is accompanied by several parallel cameras.

Jonathan Schörnig wurde 1991 in Leipzig geboren. Nach seinem Abitur 2011 begann er durch mehrere Assistenzen und Praktika im Fernseh- und Filmbereich Regieerfahrungen zu sammeln. Er arbeitete als Kameramann an diversen Fernsehformaten und Dokumentationen mit. Seit 2021 studiert Jonathan Schörnig an der Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar. Mit der seinem Langfilmdebüt Einhundertvier gewann er 2023 die goldene Taube beim 66. DOK Leipzig, sowie den Dokumentarfilmpreis des Goethe-Instituts, den ver.di-Preis für Solidarität, Menschlichkeit und Fairness und den Filmpreis Leipziger Ring.

Jonathan Schörnig è nato a Lipsia nel 1991. Dopo aver conseguito il diploma di scuola superiore nel 2011, ha iniziato ad acquisire esperienza di regia attraverso diversi assistentati e stage in televisione e nel cinema. Ha lavorato come cameraman in vari format televisivi e documentari. Jonathan Schörnig studia all'Università Bauhaus di Weimar dal 2021. Con il suo debutto nel lungometraggio Einhundertvier ha vinto la Colomba d'Oro al 66° DOK Leipzi nel 2023, oltre al Premio Goethe-Institut per il cinema documentario, al Premio ver.di per la solidarietà, l'umanità e l'equità e al Premio Leipziger Ring.

Jonathan Schörnig was born in Leipzig in 1991. After graduating from high school in 2011, he began to gain directing experience through several assistantships and internships in television and film. He worked as a cameraman on various television formats and documentaries. Jonathan Schörnig has been studying at the Bauhaus University in Weimar since 2021. With his feature film debut Einhundertvier he won the Golden Dove at the 66th DOK Leipzig in 2023, as well as the Goethe-Institut Documentary Film Prize, the ver.di Prize for Solidarity, Humanity and Fairness and the Leipziger Ring Film Prize.
