COLHEITA MALDITA (Cursed Harvest)

Im Jahr 2021 erreichte der Vormarsch der Agrarindustrie auf die Wälder seinen höchsten Stand, gefördert durch das katastrophale politische Projekt des derzeitigen Präsidenten Jair Bolsonaro. Neben der Abholzung der Wälder, der Vergiftung von Quellen und dem Einsatz extrem schädlicher Pestizide ist auch ein deutlicher Anstieg der Morde an indigenen und bäuerlichen Anführern zu verzeichnen, wie es ihn nur während der Militärdiktatur in Brasilien gab.
Der Vormarsch gentechnisch veränderter Nutzpflanzen und der Einsatz von Pestiziden (die oft vom Gesundheitsministerium verboten sind) haben die gesamte Artenvielfalt der brasilianischen Biome in Gefahr gebracht. In diesem Szenario, das einem Horrorfilm würdig ist, sind die indigenen Völker die größten Verteidiger des Lebens und der Wälder. Deshalb sind sie zusammen mit der Fluss- und Landbevölkerung am stärksten bedroht.
Unter den vielen Geschichten der Vorfahren, die vom Ende der Welt erzählen und von Umweltgesetzgebern sprechen, warnt uns das Volk der Terena, jahrtausendealte Bewohner der Region Mato Grosso, vor einem kosmischen Wesen, Kipaé (dem großen Ema), das, in eine Konstellation verwandelt, vom Kosmos aus den Weg der Menschen auf der Erde beobachtet. Wenn der Planet aufgrund unseres schlechten Verhältnisses zu ihm nicht mehr tragbar ist, wird Kipaé herabsteigen und die menschlichen Augen verschlingen, um so das ökologische Gleichgewicht wiederherzustellen. Zuvor wird Kipaé jedoch Warnsignale aussenden und Geisterschamanen schicken, um ein mögliches Ende der Zeiten zu vermitteln.
Nach einem Unfall auf einer Straße, die durch eine gentechnisch veränderte Maisplantage führt, warnt Kipaé einen dieser Schamanengeister durch vorhersehbare Träume vor der sich entwickelnden Situation der Zerstörung und des Terrors.

Nel 2021, l'avanzata dell'agrobusiness sulle foreste ha raggiunto il massimo livello, incoraggiato dal disastroso progetto politico dell'attuale presidente Jair Bolsonaro. Oltre alla deforestazione, all'avvelenamento delle sorgenti e all'uso di pesticidi estremamente dannosi, si è registrato un aumento significativo degli omicidi di leader indigeni e rurali, che si era visto solo durante la dittatura militare in Brasile.
L'avanzata delle colture geneticamente modificate e l'uso di pesticidi (spesso vietati dal Ministero della Salute) ha messo a rischio l'intera biodiversità dei biomi brasiliani. In questo scenario degno di un film horror, i popoli indigeni sono i più grandi difensori della vita e delle foreste. Per questo motivo sono i più minacciati, insieme alle popolazioni fluviali e rurali.
Tra le tante storie ancestrali che raccontano la fine del mondo e parlano di legislatori ambientali, quella della nazione Terena, abitanti millenari della regione del Mato Grosso, ci avverte di un Essere Cosmico, Kipaé (il grande Ema) che, trasformato in una costellazione, osserva dal Cosmo il passaggio degli esseri umani sulla Terra. Quando il pianeta diventerà insostenibile a causa del nostro cattivo rapporto con esso, Kipaé scenderà e divorerà gli occhi dell'uomo, ristabilendo così l'equilibrio ambientale. Prima di allora, però, Kipaé lancerà segnali di allarme, inviando spiriti-sciamani per mediare una possibile fine dei tempi.
Dopo un incidente su una strada che attraversa una piantagione di mais geneticamente modificato, Kipaé avverte uno di questi sciamani attraverso sogni premonitori della situazione di distruzione e terrore che si sta sviluppando.

In 2021, the advance of agribusiness on the forests reached its highest level, encouraged by the disastrous political project of the current president Jair Bolsonaro. In addition to deforestation, the poisoning of springs and the use of extremely harmful pesticides, there has been a significant increase in the murders of indigenous and rural leaders, only seen during the military dictatorship in Brazil.
The advance of genetically modified crops and the use of pesticides (often banned by the Ministry of Health) has put the entire biodiversity of Brazilian biomes at risk. In this scenario worthy of a horror film, the indigenous peoples are the greatest defenders of life and forests. This is why they are the most threatened, together with river and rural populations.
Among the many ancestral stories that tell of the end of the world and speak of environmental legislators, that of the Terena nation, millenarian inhabitants of the Mato Grosso region, warns us of a Cosmic Being, Kipaé (the great Ema) who, transformed into a constellation, observes from the Cosmos the passage of human beings on Earth. When the planet becomes unsustainable due to our bad relationship with it, Kipaé will descend and devour human eyes, thus restoring the environmental balance. Before then, however, Kipaé will send out warning signals, sending spirit-shamans to mediate a possible end of times.
After an accident on a road crossing a genetically modified maize plantation, Kipaé warns one of these shaman-spirits through premonitory dreams of the developing situation of destruction and terror.

Denilson Baniwa è un amazzonico della nazione Baniwa. Il suo lavoro si basa sulla ricerca delle apparizioni e delle sparizioni dei popoli indigeni nella Storia ufficiale del Brasile, e allo stesso tempo guarda alle cosmologie indigene e alle loro rappresentazioni artistiche come un possibile metodo per condividere le conoscenze ancestrali e creare un database di queste cosmologie come un modo per salvaguardarle.

Denilson Baniwa ist ein Amazonasbewohner aus dem Volk der Baniwa. Seine Arbeit basiert auf der Erforschung des Auftauchens und Verschwindens indigener Völker in der offiziellen Geschichte Brasiliens. Gleichzeitig untersucht er indigene Kosmologien und ihre künstlerischen Darstellungen als eine mögliche Methode, um das Wissen der Vorfahren zu teilen und eine Datenbank dieser Kosmologien zu erstellen, um sie zu schützen.

Denilson Baniwa is an Amazonian from the Baniwa nation. His work is based on researching the appearances and disappearances of indigenous peoples in Brazil's official history, while at the same time looking at indigenous cosmologies and their artistic representations as a possible method of sharing ancestral knowledge and creating a database of these cosmologies as a way of safeguarding them.
