I DIARI DI ANGELA - NOI DUE CINEASTI. CAPITOLO SECONDO
Der Film beleuchtet in erster Linie unser Privatleben und zeigt, wie wir lebten,
während unsere Filme über Gewalt von Kriegen,
Kolonialismus und Faschismus produziert wurden. Das Versprechen, das Angela
gegeben hatte, wird erneuert und leuchtet durch die von ihr
beschriebenen Seiten. Sie bewegen sich frei und beschwingt durch die enge, dunkle,
grausame Welt.
Il film racconta la nostra vita privata innanzitutto,
rivela ciò che vivevamo mentre i film in cantiere – sulla violenza
delle guerre, sul Colonialismo e il Fascismo – prendevano
forma. La promessa fatta ad Angela si rinnova e splende
ancora attraverso la scrittura appassionata delle sue pagine
che senza barriere attraversano la cruna stretta, oscura,
del mondo violento.
The film talks about our private lives first and foremost.
It reveals what we were experiencing while the films in the
pipeline - on the violence of wars, Colonialism and Fascism - were
taking shape. The promise made to Angela is renewed and shines
again through the passionate writing of her pages, which without
barriers cross the narrow, dark eye of the violent world.

Ich fühlte die Dringlichkeit, mit I diari di Angela – Noi due cineasti. Capitolo secondo fortzufahren: für mich eine Welt der Symbole und Farben. Unsere lange gemeinsame Reise kann nicht anders, als erneut symbolisiert zu werden. Mit einer gehörigen Portion Bescheidenheit begebe ich mich in den zweiten Teil des Films, der 2018 weltweit Anklang gefunden hat. Ich habe lange darüber nachgedacht, wie ich seine Worte, Zeichnungen und Schweigen wieder verwenden kann. Angela und ich haben zwei parallele Tagebücher gefilmt und geschrieben. Die Bilder, die ich in Europa, Amerika und anderswo gefilmt habe, passen perfekt zu ihren Texten.

Ho sentito l’urgenza di continuare con I diari di Angela – Noi due cineasti. Capitolo secondo, un mondo, per me, di simboli e colori. Il nostro lungo viaggio insieme non può che essere di nuovo risignificato. Mi inoltro, con non poco pudore, nella seconda parte del film che nel 2018 ha trovato accoglienza in tutto il mondo. Ho riflettuto a lungo su come utilizzare ancora le sue parole, i disegni e i suoi silenzi. Io e Angela abbiamo filmato e scritto due diari paralleli. Le immagini da me riprese in giro per l’Europa, per l’America e altrove, incontrano perfettamente i suoi testi.

I felt an urgent need to continue with I diari di Angela – Noi due cineasti. Capitolo secondo, for me a world of symbols and colors. Our long journey together could only be given new meaning again. I set out, with considerable reserve, to make the second part of the film that in 2018 had had a favorable reception all over the world. I thought for a long time about how to make use again of her words, her drawings and her silences. Angela and I filmed and wrote two parallel diaries. The images I shot around Europe, America and elsewhere fit perfectly with her writings.
